King County Healthcare Coalition
IMPLEMENTATION OVERVIEW
This Toolkit section gives a very detailed look at the
fundamental working content of a Healthcare Coalition that can be applied topically to almost any jurisdiction.
If your health jurisdiction is not undertaking the entire coalition development process, this section provides key information on the
focus areas that will likely fit with some of your organizational planning.
MOVING THE COALITION INTO ACTION
Planning and
structuring the Healthcare Coalition will be the most time consuming process of the Coalition's development due to relationship management and coordinating communication. The implementation phase will move quickly as key stakeholders will be ready for action but it is important to prioritize what areas are ready for implementation and what areas will become a focus at a later date.
Prior to implementing focus area work teams, the most important pieces to have in place are:
- The broad coalition objectives and goals so all planning groups are working towards a common vision and outcome
- A communications and coordination structure
- A workgroup charter and list of planning priorities
- A draft work plan
Keeping in mind the Coalition's Roles of Communications, Coordination and Consultation, specific objectives and action items were developed for each key
focus area of content.
